› Yankee Group publishes Case Study on AM-BEO customer
07 September 2004
AM-BEO LTD., a global leader in rating, charging and revenue settlement software products and solutions, today announced that the leading and respected industry analyst firm – The Yankee Group, has published research on the use and benefits of AM-BEO software solutions for the charging of mobile content within Sonera Zed. Sonera Zed is a carrier independent 3rd party mobile services data aggregator, responsible for providing quality entertainment, communications and information services for mobile handset users in Europe, Malaysia and the Philippines.
The research identifies that Zed, unlike many carriers with their own content offerings, markets its services directly to the end user, and currently reaches over 200 million mobile phone users connected to 32 different operators. To date, over 35 million mobile phone users have in fact accessed Zed’s content services. The Yankee Group report recognizes that Zed offers its services with different billing models, including supporting usage based charging and subscription based charging. To be able to provide this flexibility Zed chose AM-BEO’s nCharge solution based on rating engine flexibility, engine performance, dynamic transaction management capabilities, account & balance management capabilities and the company’s willingness to listen and address customer issues as well as its ability to support future services.
“Zed is proving itself to be a leader in mobile content services and has recognized that as future content services become more prevalent, content providers and aggregators should be fully able to create their own pricing plans”, commented Paul Hughes, Director of Billing and Payment Application Strategies and author of the report. “Flexibility was highlighted as a key strength of nCharge, particularly as Sonera Zed is further enhancing its content offerings and will need greater levels of back end support to ensure profitable service delivery.”
