› NORTEL Networks Selects Prime Carrier Software to Deliver Solution to Thus PLC

Prime Carrier Ltd., the market leader in the provision of ‘On Demand’ solutions for the global telecommunications and media industries, today announced that Nortel Networks, (NYSE/TSX: NT) is delivering a managed service solution to THUS plc, one of the UK’s leading network operators, specializing in the corporate and SME markets. This solution is based on Prime Carrier’s market leading software solution for Wholesale Telecommunication carriers and has been operational for the last 9 months.
Nortel deliver this solution using secure Internet connections from a managed application environment in their service centre in Birmingham, UK to all of THUS’s UK operations. Nortel will receive all the relevant traffic information from THUS’s network operations.
The overall service provides THUS with a comprehensive service for their Wholesale business process allowing THUS to focus on providing high-quality, integrated services providing a range of voice, data and internet services operating through the THUS and Demon brands.
Prime Carrier’s modular software suite for the wholesale market automates and streamlines carrier-to-carrier business operations. It supports a wide range of complex business functions including management of dial codes and rates, purchasing, sales, bilateral agreements, route optimization, call quality and switch management. These solutions enable carriers to more efficiently and cost effectively manage inter-carrier trading relationships. Prime Carrier extends this with real-time processing of actual traffic data to provide quality, cost and margin management with an ‘actual vs. forecast’ analysis to reduce costs, improve margins and measure call and carrier quality through a range of metrics and statistics, as network information is made available.
