MOST Managed brings a new level of flexibility and control to the management of inter-carrier relationships

Prime Carrier, the Irish based telecom software vendor, has announced the launch of a major new enhancement to its MOST V™ solution at GTM 2004 in Washington DC. MOST Managed is the latest module in Prime Carrier's unique Value Based Routing™ suite of telco business optimization solutions. It builds on previous capability and packages it separately to proactively manage carriers' commercial, swop and bi-lateral wholesale trade agreements with other telcos. It enables registration, tracking and management of traffic volumes, balances and thresholds.

MOST Managed has been developed and tested with existing Prime Carrier customers, and is proven to offer significant incremental capability. Its introduction is a timely response to their demands for a complete solution to minimize the 'out-of-balance' and 'threshold expenses' incurred when their inter-carrier agreements fail to balance at the end of a billing period. It predicts where cost overruns will occur and makes changes before overrun charges are applied. These unplanned cost excesses - so common in wholesale carrier trade - can be controlled and minimized when MOST Managed is implemented.

Vincent Browne, Chief Executive of Prime Carrier commented, "We listen carefully to the market and continue to innovate solutions which deliver incremental cost savings and competitive advantage to telcos. This new software builds on to our unique Value Based Routing™ proposition, and offers customers an unmatched capability to optimize carrier selection and management. It ensures that our solutions continue to lead the market in delivering best return on investment."

MOST Managed works by monitoring contract performance. It matches projected and actual traffic figures in order to track progress and amend order volumes where necessary. MOST Managed registers all agreement information and makes optimized routing decisions, which take account of customer preference for complex criteria such as network selection, cost, quality and time of day. No other solution takes account of so many criteria.

Other new features offered by MOST Managed include:

  • Automated, fast and flexible routing evaluations, which enable telco managers to make important decisions about optimized carrier selection and management. Its unique flexibility allows advanced management of factors such as:
  • Front loading, back loading and even distribution of traffic.
  • Re-routing traffic to alternative suppliers to take advantage of threshold discounted rates.
  • 'What-if' modeling capability, which determines the best strategies prior to creating agreements during (re)negotiation.
  • Dynamic exception reporting alters carrier business managers' attention to those agreements where difficulties are likely to occur.
